Skaftafell, Iceland

Skaftafell is a unique ice cave in the glacier on the territory of the national park of the same name in Iceland. The special state of the ice, which does not contain bubbles and is colored in blue, an amazing feeling of a frozen lake overhead is created. Walking along the glacial tunnel, you can see completely unimaginable formations created by nature. Multicolored rocks, ice caves, basalt columns, huge glacial rivers and waterfalls create a comprehensive sense of the presence of ice and cold in the temple.

The ice cave can collapse at any moment, because in itself it is very unstable. Therefore, excursions are conducted only in winter, when the temperature is as low as possible and the ice becomes more rigid. However, even this circumstance does not stop the process of cracking the ice, creating an amazing acoustic effect in the cave.
